Map the insurable exposure

  • List cabinet serial numbers, installed value, payment hardware, screen, refrigeration or preparation equipment and accessories.
  • Separate the machine itself from stocked goods, cash handling, card-payment exposure, vandalism, theft, product liability and third-party property damage.
  • Confirm whether the site owner, operator, distributor, finance company or another party must be named on the policy.

Prepare site and machine evidence

  • Retain model and serial records, packing photos, installation photographs, acceptance records and maintenance history.
  • Document anchoring, electrical connection, access control, payment-device ownership and relevant alarms for the actual location.
  • Keep a procedure for incident photos, transaction logs, machine status and stock reconciliation.

Align exclusions and responsibilities

  • Ask a qualified insurance adviser which local policies, limits, deductibles and exclusions apply to the intended country and location.
  • Do not assume that a machine warranty, card-reader agreement or freight insurance covers public-liability, theft, spoilage or business interruption.
  • Assign who reports an incident, authorizes repair, retains damaged parts and communicates with the site owner or insurer.

Prepare a configuration review
